Nusa Lembongan is reached by speedboat from Sanur (approximately 30 to 45 minutes crossing time). The island remains quieter than its larger neighbour, with a rhythm set by tides and active seaweed farms offshore. Pemedal embraces this character: a 3-star hotel on the sand, with direct access to Jungut Batu Beach and clear views across the Badung Strait to Mount Agung on clear days.

The resort's other appeal lies in its position for divers and snorkellers. The major sites in the area — Manta Point, Crystal Bay, Mangrove Point — are a short boat ride away, and the team arranges excursions from the resort.

Atmosphere and architecture

Teak wood dominates the construction, complemented by traditional thatched roofing that echoes vernacular Balinese architecture. Buildings are arranged around a garden and outdoor pool overlooking the beach. The atmosphere is family-oriented and refreshingly informal, with a local team speaking Indonesian and English.

The rooms

Accommodation comes in three categories, all featuring a king-size bed, Egyptian cotton linens, air conditioning and a private bathroom with walk-in shower:

• Superior (28 m²): the entry-level category, mostly with garden views.
• Deluxe (42 m²): the most spacious, with private terrace.
• Deluxe Superior (38 m²): privileged orientation toward the sea.

Each room features a flat-screen television, minibar, safe, kettle and toiletries. A complimentary bottle of mineral water is replenished daily.

Dining, spa and services

The restaurant serves Balinese and Asian cuisine, rounded out with international dishes, with views over the pool and beach. Breakfast is included in the rate. A bar operates by day and evening.

For wellbeing, the spa offers Balinese massages by reservation. Standard services are all in place: free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, daily housekeeping, laundry service, luggage storage, motorbike and car rentals to explore the island.

Location and access

Access is exclusively by boat from Sanur (Bali). Several operators run daily rotations to the Jungut Batu port, just minutes from the resort. From Denpasar Airport, allow roughly an hour's drive to Sanur, then the crossing.

What to see and do nearby

Diving and snorkelling structure most activities. Sites accessible from Lembongan include Mangrove Point, Wall Bay, Gamat Bay, Crystal Bay and Manta Point, where manta ray sightings are regular depending on season.

On land, a suspension bridge connects Nusa Lembongan to its neighbour Nusa Ceningan: you cross local seaweed farms still worked by families. Curious visitors may detour to Rumah di Bawah Tanah, an underground house carved out in the 1960s by a local priest, a quiet testament to the island's spiritual dimension.

When to visit

The dry season, April to October, offers the best conditions for diving and snorkelling: clear water, calmer seas, clear skies. July and August see peak tourist numbers. The wet season (November to March) remains viable, with tropical showers often brief and lush vegetation, but sometimes reduced underwater visibility.
