The day is devoted to the descent of the Bongan River, located upstream of the Kapuas River, the longest in Indonesia with its 1,143 km.
The first beautiful rapids mark out the course of the gold diggers on the banks. As the river narrows, it becomes necessary to step out of the dugouts to push or pull them along.
The Dayaks, skilled navigators of these waters, effortlessly leap from rock to rock. In some shallow areas, the journey requires carrying the dugouts along cliffs, surrounded by the dense, vibrant jungle.
On your way, you contemplate the rainforest of Kalimantan, the small agricultural lands, the hills and the Dayak huts.
You arrive at Tanjung Lokang at the end of the day. It is the last Dayak Bahan village before the dense jungle of the Betung Kerihun National Park. Here, handicraft lovers will be served: woven rattan baskets, Dayak machetes, blowpipes, etc.
