Welcome at the international airport of Jakarta by your English speaking tour-guide and transfer to your hotel to rest after your long journey. Later that night, transfer back to the airport for your flight to Timika, in the heart of Indonesian Papua.
Early morning arrival at Timika Airport and transfer to your hotel. In the early afternoon, you’ll attend your first expedition briefing, where your tour-guide will go over the route in detail and share essential advice for the days ahead.
Time will also be set aside for the final logistical preparations of the expedition, including documentation checks, gear review, and equipment distribution.
Board a charter flight to Tsinga, a remote village nestled at 2,100 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your local porters, essential companions for the journey ahead. Later in the day, begin your first approach trek down to the village of Jongko, located further below. An evening briefing will be held to prepare you for the next stage of the expedition.
Three days of trekking are needed to reach the base camp (through camp I & II ), a journey across jungle, hills and rivers.
4 to 5 hours of trekking per days
This free day is dedicated to acclimatization.
On another acclimatization day, in which you’ll try a few climbing exercises. You’ll try one, at the foot of the Cartensz pic. For those who feel ready, there’s the possibility to climb Nggapulu (Puncak Sukarno).The rest of the day is free.
4 to 6 hours of trekking
In the middle of the night, after getting kitted out, you set off - at around 2 am - to climb the Carstensz pyramid. You reach the summit in the late morning and return to base camp in the afternoon for a well-earned rest.
13 to 15 hours of trekking
Trekking return towards Jongko village.
4 to 5 hours per day
You’ll begin your trek back to Tsinga, where a charter flight will take you to Timika. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
4 to 5 hours of trekking
Free time until transfers to the airport. Catch a flight towards Jakarta or Bali. End of services.
