The spirit of travel
Around the terraced rice fields of Tegallalang, the scent of frangipani mingles with the incense smoke drifting from ancestral temples. This circuit begins in the hills of Ubud, where thatched roofs emerge from an ocean of greenery, then winds toward the sanctuaries of Gunung Kawi, carved into volcanic rock by expert hands in the 11th century.
The itinerary reveals the hidden treasures of eastern Bali: the smoking caldera of Mount Batur, the royal pools of Tirtagangga with crystal-clear waters, and the preserved valley of Sidemen where ikat weavers still work. Then heading toward the Gili Islands, these confetti of white sand scattered across intensely blue waters, where only horse carts disturb the silence of the coconut palms. Here, sea turtles and tropical fish swim just a few strokes from the shore.
This getaway marries Hindu-Javanese heritage, perpetuated in the daily rituals of Bali Aga villages, with the island way of life of the Lombok islands. A journey that leaves in memory the tinkling of gamelan and the murmur of waves on coral.

Welcome to Bali
Arrival at Denpasar airport and transfer to Ubud, a city located on the hills north of Denpasar, in a rolling landscape of lush rice fields and ravines. Ubud is renowned for its painting school. Despite the exponential tourist development it has experienced in recent years, the city has managed to preserve its tranquility and beauty.
The rest of the day is free.
Between Temples and Volcano
After breakfast, departure for the terraced rice fields of Tegallalang. Located north of Ubud, they offer sumptuous panoramas. Stop at the village of Tampaksiring to visit the temples of Gunung Kawi. This site is surely the most impressive in Bali with the 9 tombs of the family of King Wungsu, carved into the cliff.
You take the road to the caldera of Mt Batur (1725m), through a region renowned for its coffee plantations. From Penelokan, we enjoy an exceptional view over the caldera, measuring 14 km long. This imposing size testifies to the tumultuous past of the volcano and a size that once must have exceeded that of the current Agung. Possibility to have lunch in one of the restaurants on the edge of the caldera (meal not included).
Then, you visit the temple of Kehen in Bangli. This temple is one of the most venerated in Bali. Its vegetable garden and its temple with eleven "meru" make it a place filled with spirituality and traditions.
Return to Ubud early evening where you can stroll freely around the village.
Balinese Day
Today, traditions and sharing will be at the forefront. Total immersion in daily Balinese life: cuisine, preparation of offerings, dance, music… At the heart of a Balinese family, let's head to the market to buy the ingredients necessary for meal preparation.
Then it's off to the house, where you'll spend most of the day exchanging and participating in various activities of daily Balinese life: coffee making, preparation of offerings. You then participate in a cooking class which you enjoy afterwards.
In the early afternoon, a walk through the village and the surrounding nature. Return to the house for a farewell snack with our hosts… A day rich in sharing!
From temple to temple
After your breakfast, depart for Goa Gadjah also known as the Elephant Cave. Dating from the 11th century and built at the intersection of two rivers, this temple is one of the oldest Balinese archaeological sites.
Archaeological site of Yeh Pulu Then you visit, a historical relief recounting the ancient life of the Balinese.
Next, it is in the city of Klungkung that you discover the courthouse where the punishments once inflicted on outlaws are depicted, such as threats hanging over the heads of the accused.
You finally reach Sidemen, one of the most beautiful valleys in Bali (numerous rice fields, salak plantations and ikat weaving workshop-houses...)
In the Heart of the Island
The morning is dedicated to a Balinese walk, through fields and rice paddies, towards the Bali Aga village of Tenganan which has preserved Balinese culture predating the Javanese influence of the Hindu Majapahit dynasty. To preserve their village from the harmful effects of intrusion by non-initiates in the worship of Batara Indra, every visitor is welcomed from noon until nightfall, after which everyone is asked to continue on their way. There was a time when the villagers of Tenganan would even sweep away their visitors' footprints to completely erase their visit.
4 hours of walking
Then, you leave to visit the Pura Lempuyan located just above Tirtagangga, in the far east of Bali. An incredibly steep road leads to the start of what can be considered a pilgrimage. 7 temples, 1500 steps connecting them and a sweeping view over the sea.
Finally, visit to the royal baths of Tirtagangga (whose exact translation is "The waters of the Ganges"), on the south-eastern slopes of Agung. Officially known as Tirta Ayu, this complex of fresh water pools, was one of many aquatic palaces built by a king of Karangasem.
Idyllic Sidemen Valley
The morning is devoted to a lovely hike of approximately 3 hours around Sidemen, through high-altitude plantations and rice fields. During this walk, we pass by numerous hamlets, conducive to meeting the local population, and also cross an old suspension bridge. The vegetation is lush and the landscape very exotic.
Free afternoon to enjoy your hotel and its pool in the middle of the rice fields.
On the way to paradise!
This morning, a vehicle from the Speedboat company picks you up at your hotel and takes you to Padangbai port. From there, you take the speedboat towards Gili Air.
Upon arrival at Gili, we recommend that you use a horse-drawn cart ("Cidomo") to take you or carry your luggage to your hotel (not included). Hotel check-in.

Feet in the water!
Free days. Possibility to tour the island on foot or by bike. A walk that allows you to discover the quietest beaches on the island as well as small restaurants and bars by the water.
Take your mask and snorkel and set off to discover the seabed from the beach. At Gili, fish are plentiful but not only that. You will surely encounter several turtles during your snorkeling hike, considered the oldest inhabitants of the island.
And if you prefer to spend time with your better half, have a cocktail or a fresh coconut and relax, your feet in the sand. The Gili islands are made for that too!
Rest
Free day in Sanur, which is one of Bali's oldest beach resorts, but has managed to retain its charm and refinement. Sanur's beaches stretch for several kilometers: ideal for a stroll by the water. Sanur's main street, meanwhile, is a goldmine of little shops and good restaurants.
Enjoy your free time as a couple or with family by swimming in the pool or in the sea, discovering Balinese massages, strolling along the beach or in the town center… Dinner and evening are free.

Registration is considered firm and final after payment of a deposit of 30% of the total price and acceptance of the specific terms of sale.
The balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the departure date.

Passport
To enter Indonesia, your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months after your entry date and must contain at least two blank pages for immigration stamps.

Tourist stay without visa
Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible for a visa exemption for tourist stays in Indonesia. Entry requirements vary by nationality and should be verified with the Indonesian embassy or consulate of your country of residence.
The authorities may also request:
an exit ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay.
Formalities on arrival
Before your arrival, it is recommended to complete the online arrival declaration via the official Indonesian customs and immigration portal (e-CD, Electronic Customs Declaration).
This form allows you to transmit to the authorities certain information necessary for entry into the territory:

A confirmation QR code may be requested when passing through customs and immigration controls.
Health and vaccinations
No vaccine is mandatory to enter Indonesia, except in case of transit through a country at risk of yellow fever, in which case an international vaccination certificate may be required.
As a precaution, it is advisable to consult a doctor or vaccination center before departure. Vaccinations against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid and rabies are commonly recommended for stays in Indonesia. Antimalarial treatment may also be recommended depending on the regions visited (particularly outside Bali and major cities).
Travel with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
In some countries, when a minor travels without one of their parents, an authorization to exit the territory may be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
