  • After your breakfast, departure for @Goa Gadjah better known as the elephant cave. Dating from the 11th century and built at the crossroads of two rivers, this temple is one of the oldest Balinese archaeological sites.

  • Stop at the village of Tampaksiring to visit the temples of Gunung Kawi. This site is surely the most impressive in Bali with the 9 tombs of King Wungsu's family, dug into the cliff.

  • Then we visit Yeh Pulu, a historical relief telling the ancient life of the Balinese.

  • Visit to Tirta Empul and its sacred pools where hundreds of Balinese come every day to purify themselves.

  • Return to Ubud in the early evening where you can stroll freely in the village.

  • We discover this green environment during a short walk. The opportunity to become aware of the beauty of nature.

  • This morning, we are going to discover the rice fields of Tegallalang. Located north of Ubud, they offer sumptuous panoramas.

  • Continue to Kintamani, a high altitude village which offers breathtaking views of the lake and the batur volcano.

  • Then we head towards Trunyan, along Lake Batur.

  • Boat tour of the cemetery where the bodies of the deceased decompose in the open air.

  • Free day to discover Ubud and its surroundings. In Ubud, elegant temples and palaces with sculpted facades line the streets. During your city stroll, you will discover Puri Saren and the details of its wooden doors, Puri Saraswati and the finesse of its ornamentation, Puri Puseh and its splendid sculptures as well as many other museums and galleries.

    Another tourist attraction in Ubud, slightly away from the city center, is the “monkey forest” temple.

    Walks and walks outside of Ubud take you to places where the view of the surrounding area is breathtaking, as the rural landscapes are so preserved.

  • Today, traditions and sharing will be in the spotlight. Total immersion in Balinese daily life: cooking, making offerings, dancing, music… In the heart of a Balinese family, let's go to the market to buy the ingredients necessary to prepare the meal.
    Then head home, where we will spend the majority of the day exchanging and participating in the different activities of Balinese daily life: making coffee, preparing offerings. We then take part in a cooking class which we then taste.
    At the beginning of the afternoon, walk in the middle of the village and the surrounding nature. Return home for a farewell snack with our hosts… A day full of sharing!

    After having received the basic recommendations and having equipped ourselves, we board the raft (five people maximum).

  • Continuation of the day on the beach of Pasir Putih, one of the most beautiful on the island. 400 meters of white sand beach, azure blue water, a row of palm trees… An idyllic setting which earned it the nickname "Virgin Beach" and even "Hidden Beach"

  • Then, a short stop in Kusamba, a small fishing village and its black sand beach, to discover the traditional methods of salt harvesting.

  • Continuation to the cave of Goa Lawah, founded in 1007 by Empu Kuteran, it has the reputation of bringing luck. It is one of the nine directional temples of Bali (called “kayangan jagat”) protecting the island against evil spirits. The main attraction is the bat colony and the legends associated with it.

Day 8On the heights of Bali

  • This morning, we head towards the Temple of Kehen.

  • Then, we visit the Kehen temple in Bangli. This temple is one of the most revered in Bali. Its plant garden and its temple with eleven “meru” make it a place full of spirituality and traditions.

  • Then, we visit the temple of Besakih. Located on the misty slopes of Mount Agung at an altitude of 1000 meters, it is the most important temple on the island comprising a religious complex of 22 separate temples, spread over seven terraces. Between its 11-story “meru” roofs, the almost constant religious ceremonies and its point of view “between sea and mountains”: this temple is surely one of the most spiritual. It is also the oldest and most revered temple in Bali.

  • Then, it is in the town of Klungkung that we discover the court of justice where the punishments formerly inflicted on outlaws are represented, like threats hanging over the heads of the accused.

Day 9Along the rice fields

  • This morning, we are going to visit the Sangeh monkey forest.
    This forest, much less touristy than its big sister in Ubud, is made up of 3 temples and more than 500 monkeys roaming free.

  • Then, we visit Pura Taman Ayun a state temple located in Mengwi.
    It is one of the only temples where royal ancestral deities are celebrated. Its peaceful gardens, its architecture with its alignment of groupers make it a place where calm and serenity reign.

  • Then we head towards Jatiluwih, a small village located in the middle of the most beautiful rice fields of Bali, in the central-western part of the island.

  • We then begin a superb hike through this veritable ocean represented by the rice terraces that surround us.

    3 hours of walking

  • Finally, we visit Luhur Batukaru temple, which emerges in a lush green setting and where several multi-roofed “meru” stand, some of which date back to the 17th century, dedicated to the ancestors of the Tabanan dynasty and to local protective deities.

  • This morning head to the beaches of southern Bali, more particularly Balangan beach. This peaceful beach is a great place for swimming and eating at the small restaurants on stilts along the beach. It’s also a very good surfing spot…

  • At the beginning of the afternoon, head to the Uluwatu temple a few kilometers from Balangan. This temple perched on the cliff is the monkeys’ haunt. It is also and above all an important place of prayer for the Balinese.

  • At the end of the afternoon, we discover the temple of Tanah Lot, which means "Land of the Sea" in Balinese.
    It stands on an islet beaten by the waves of the ocean, it is a place of pilgrimage very popular with tourists and photographers.
    Tanah Lot Temple was built in the 16th century on the advice of the famous Javanese priest Danghyang Nirartha to pay homage to the guardian spirits of the sea.
    This remarkable site also benefits from one of the most splendid sunsets on the island.
