It's not always straightforward to know what to pack when heading off on vacation. Depending on what you plan to do during your stay in Indonésie, here are some practical recommendations for what you can bring in your luggage.

For beach lovers

We recommend investing in a sturdy four-wheeled suitcase. Don't forget to pack sunscreen, lightweight clothing, your swimsuit, and comfortable sandals. You can easily find additional clothing or shoes once you arrive. Also include a small first-aid kit with insect repellent and a few medications for pain, stomach troubles, and other minor ailments that may occur during your travels. Be sure to research vaccinations and malaria prevention treatments as well!

For hiking enthusiasts

Indonésie is typically hot and humid. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing. Bring sturdy trekking shoes with good ankle support and non-slip soles. If you're planning to climb a volcano, consider bringing a lightweight backpack containing a water bottle, a windbreaker, and even a fleece jacket (as temperatures can be quite cool at the summits of certain volcanoes).

We recommend bringing a sarong or pareo on any type of trip. This could prove invaluable if you need to cover your shoulders during temple and sanctuary visits.
