The Transjavan

Upon your arrival at Jakarta airport, your English-speaking guide will welcome you warmly before the transfer to your transit hotel, for a gentle first contact with Indonésie.

In the morning, transfer to Carita, where you will visit the historic Cikoneng lighthouse, built in 1885.

The day continues with an excursion to the Krakatoa observatory in Pasauran, offering the opportunity to observe the seismic activity of this emblematic volcano.

Mid-morning, embark on a speed-boat to approach the mythical Krakatoa volcano. You will tour the island while maintaining a safe distance, adapted to current volcanic conditions.
Since the major eruption in December 2018, the Anak Krakatau volcano remains unpredictable, with random eruptions. Depending on its activity, there is a possibility of climbing the flanks of the old cone to observe the new cone, born in 2021 and still regularly active.

Return to Carita in the afternoon.

In the morning, transfer to Bandung, nicknamed the "Paris of Java", perched at 768 m altitude and surrounded by majestic volcanoes.

Climb to the Tangkuban Perahu volcano (2,076 m, literally "overturned boat"), dominating Bandung to the north, and enjoy a walk along its ridges and slopes to observe impressive geothermal activity and discover endemic tree species.

In the afternoon, visit the geological museum of the Indonesian Volcanological Centre, to deepen your knowledge of the volcanoes and geology of the region.

Hiking time approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Transfer to the Papandayan volcano, across the entire volcanic chain. Nearby, observe the smoking geysers of the Kamojang crater. An exploration walk allows you to discover the bubbling mud pools, steam vents and sulfur deposits, witnesses to geothermal activity

The visit continues at the Kamojang geothermal center, nestled in the heart of a vast caldera spanning several kilometers.

Return to the hotel at the end of the day for the evening.

In the morning, transfer to the Galunggung volcano for a hike around the crater, offering a spectacular overview of the volcanic landscape. Then, observe and analyze the impacts of the 1982 eruptions, when enormous lahars (mud and ash flows) swept down the slopes and forced over 30,000 inhabitants to evacuate.

At the end of the day, transfer to Baturaden, a hotel complex at the foot of Mount Slamet, to rest and enjoy the surrounding natural setting.

Start the day with a morning walk through varied and enchanting landscapes, between authentic villages, terraced rice fields, wild rivers and lush tropical forests.

Then enjoy a relaxation session in an idyllic setting, with hot spring waters. A reflexology massage with sulfurous mud, provided by a local therapist, is also offered for optimal relaxation.

In the afternoon, transfer to Wonosobo to continue your adventure.

In the morning, transfer to the Dieng Plateau, a richly cultivated volcanic area, also famous for its archaeological heritage with eight Hindu temples in ruins.

The visit is followed by a transfer to Borobudur Temple, built in the 8th and 9th centuries under the Sailendra dynasty, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary.

At the end of the day, drive to Yogyakarta for the evening and night.

In the morning, transfer to the Malang region via the highway, then continue by 4x4 to the Tengger caldera, passing through Tumpang. This region is home to the majestic Mount Bromo (2,329 m), whose frequent fumaroles bear witness to its volcanic activity, and a sea of sand of breathtaking beauty.

In the afternoon, if conditions permit, climb Mount Bromo (activity level 3), followed by a walk back to Cemorolawang, offering exceptional views of Bromo and Semeru, united in a spectacular landscape.

In the middle of the night, embark on a 4x4 to cross the sea of sand and reach the summit of Mount Pananjakan (2,755 m). Witness a spectacular sunrise over the caldera, with Mount Bromo and the slopes of Semeru volcano, both emitting impressive plumes of smoke.

After breakfast at the summit, head to Gunung Sawur, the observation post of the Semeru volcano, before continuing the transfer to the surroundings of Banyuwangi for the evening.

In the morning, transfer to Paltuding to begin the hike towards the crater of Kawah Ijen. Discover a striking volcanic landscape, with desolate surroundings, the world's largest acid lake and an open-pit sulfur mine, offering a unique and impressive experience.

After descending towards Paltuding, transfer to Ketapang port to board a ferry heading to Bali.

Upon arrival, drive towards the beach resort of Pemuteran, on the peaceful and uncrowded northwest coast, for one night at a beachfront hotel.
