Meet Your English-Speaking Yoga Instructor Guide
I'm Sophia, a yoga instructor based in Paris, teaching in Parisian studios, corporate settings, private coaching, and the education sector.I'm passionate about travel and drawn to wide-open spaces. For me, life on the road feels like a second nature. I've been traveling since I was 18, and every professional opportunity—internships, jobs—became a chance to explore the world. At 23, I began leading eco-responsible itinerant trips abroad for teenagers aged 15 to 17, with the aim of instilling values of respect and international solidarity.
Discovering the world transformed my vision of life. Travel has enriched me immensely—with wisdom and perspective. One of my most meaningful experiences was teaching English to young orphaned Buddhist monks in Cambodia during volunteer work, or sharing a meal with a shepherd in the Himalayas at the source of the Ganges.
I believe travel is essential for self-discovery. It allows us to understand who we truly are, to explore our planet, to live extraordinary experiences, and to form meaningful connections that transform us deeply.

My second great love is yoga. The practice of yoga and meditation invites us to become conscious of our bodies, to master our minds, to calm our thoughts, to better understand what we feel and truly desire, and to determine the meaning we wish to give our lives. Beyond its powerful health benefits, yoga and meditation invite us to transform ourselves in order to better transform the world—to become better beings, more altruistic and conscious.
After beginning a career in fashion and luxury, I left it all behind to dedicate myself to sharing yoga. Yoga helped me overcome difficult challenges, to bounce back, and to find serenity, vibrant life energy, and genuine joy. I couldn't keep this treasure to myself, so I decided to share it with you. This retreat is therefore an opportunity to bring together and share these two passions that deeply nourish and rejuvenate me! If it works for me, why not for you?
Your Bali Yoga Retreat
I created this retreat in collaboration with Azimuth Adventure Travel with the aim of giving travelers the opportunity to escape their intense, demanding daily lives and truly recharge. To venture far, to disconnect in order to care for ourselves and reconnect with our inner selves. This retreat is not a traditional yoga retreat; this itinerant format is unique. Far from touristy Bali, we've designed it to allow participants to revitalize body and spirit on sacred ground through the different energies of fire, air, earth, and water—through the abundance of Bali's nature, its people, and their culture. Having spent several months in Bali, I'll guide you to my favorite places and the island's hidden gems.
This circuit allows you to travel off the beaten path, discovering the island's many facets while moving through landscapes and atmospheres that are wonderfully diverse.
Your Bali Itinerary
We'll begin our journey in Amed, a peaceful fishing village blessed with endless sunsets. We'll meet local children and experience Balinese dance for a total immersion upon arrival. Knowing the Balinese traditions well, I'll help you feel at ease in this new environment.
Next, we'll venture inland to discover the idyllic Sidemen Valley, taking time to recharge in this paradise home to Bali's most beautiful rice terraces.
Then we'll head to Ubud, a wellness paradise surrounded by jungle. I'll take you to the internationally renowned school where I trained in vinyasa yoga. We'll be welcomed by my chosen family and the studio directors, Jasmine and Rafael of Radiantly Alive. We'll practice various yoga styles together in the studio. Perhaps a handstand workshop or aerial yoga for the more adventurous?
Next, we'll gain altitude to discover the mystical village of Munduk, nestled in the island's mountains. We'll conclude our magnificent adventure in Canggu, between waves and surfers, fully recharging in the ocean.
A Note on Yogic Routine
During this journey, I'll share my lifestyle and yogic routine inspired by Ayurveda, an Indian healing system designed to maintain optimal body and mind health. This is an opportunity to discover and test a new lifestyle approach attuned to your body and needs—perhaps even implement new healthy habits into your daily routine.Daily yoga and meditation practice—whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced practitioner—allows you to detoxify your body, tone it, improve flexibility and mobility, while boosting your immune system. The practice helps relieve physical and emotional tension, allowing you to fully relax and regain inner harmony and peace. Bali is rich with energy and positive vibrations; many yogis consider the island an "energy vortex."
We'll explore different yoga practices throughout the retreat. Hatha yoga, the most classical ancestral practice in which poses are held. Vinyasa yoga, more modern and highly dynamic, is a flowing sequence of poses focused on coordinating movement and breath. Finally, yin yoga is a meditative practice rooted in Chinese medicine and meridians, where poses are held longer to work deeply with the fascia and release tension stored in these tissues.
This retreat is absolutely open to everyone. I teach daily to diverse groups. With specialization in accessible yoga, I adapt the practice to each individual's body, ensuring it's as respectful as possible.
The Solidarity Aspect of the Retreat
One of the things that struck me most during my first visit to Bali was the warmth of the Balinese people—the generosity with which they share their island, culture, and gods with open hearts. Bali welcomes approximately 8 million tourists annually for 3 million residents, yet the welcome we receive as foreigners is filled with joy and love. Every encounter, every smile is unique and sincere.
Through this retreat, I wish for us to express our gratitude to the Balinese by supporting them as responsible travelers.
One day of the retreat will be dedicated to collaboration with the Anak Bali association, which works to improve education and health conditions for Balinese children. A unique moment of sharing centered on yoga and environmental protection.
This retreat is an invitation to live an awakened dream in Bali, known as the island of the gods where an exceptionally divine energy reigns. It's an opportunity to discover or deepen your yoga practice, creating inner space within yourself. It's the chance to experience something truly unique. Listen to your heart and let yourself be guided.
