What to see and do nearby

Bromo Crater

The hike from Cemorolawang descends into the caldera, crosses the sand sea, then climbs the 250 steps leading to the rim of the smoking crater. Allow 2 to 3 hours round trip on foot, or use local horses for the flat section.

Penanjakan

The most renowned vantage point for sunrise over the entire Bromo-Batok-Semeru massif. Jeep departure around 3 am, arrival before dawn to settle on the panoramic platforms.

Madakaripura

A waterfall nestled in a volcanic gorge, located on the return route to Probolinggo. A natural stop often included in two-day Bromo circuits.

Tengger villages
