The spirit of travel

This discovery circuit offers a perfect blend of hiking and relaxation moments, between land and sea. Balinese land first, explored at the pace of gentle walks through fabulous terraced rice field landscapes, traditional villages and sacred temples.

Sea of the Komodo archipelago, next, which offers beach landscapes worthy of dreamy postcards. It is also an opportunity to encounter some mythical dragons and even several impressive manta rays. In short, this 15-day adventure perfectly sums up, in itself, the intriguing motto of the Republic of Indonésie: "Our Land & Our Water".

Welcome to Bali

AéroportUbud

1h20

Airport pickup at Denpasar and transfer to Ubud, a town situated on the hills north of Denpasar, in a rolling landscape of lush rice fields and ravines. Ubud is renowned for its painting school.

Despite the exponential tourism development it has experienced in recent years, the town has managed to preserve its tranquility and beauty.

The rest of the day is free.

Cultural Capital of Bali

Discovery day in Ubud and its surroundings. In Ubud, elegant temples and palaces with sculpted facades line the streets. During your city walk, you discover Puri Saren and the details of its wooden doors, Pura Saraswati and the finesse of its ornamentations, Pura Puseh and its splendid sculptures as well as many other museums and galleries.

Another tourist attraction in Ubud, slightly away from the town center, is the temple « Ubud Monkey Forest». Hikes and walks outside Ubud, meanwhile, take you to places where the view of the surroundings is breathtaking, as the rural landscapes are so well preserved.

A family of Balinese artists welcomes us into their traditional home and offers you a meal, no less typical of Ubud, accompanied by Balinese dances.

Return to Ubud early in the evening where you can stroll freely through the village.

Rice Fields of Bali

The morning is devoted to a lovely hike around Sidemen, through high-altitude plantations and rice fields. During this walk, you pass by numerous hamlets, conducive to meeting with the local population, and also cross an old suspension bridge. The vegetation is lush and the landscape very exotic.

In the early afternoon, short transfer to [Tirtagangga Royal Baths (whose exact translation is "The Waters of the Ganges"), on the south-east slopes of Agung. Officially known as Tirta Ayu, this complex of fresh water pools was one of many aquatic palaces built by a king of Karangasem. This place surrounded by a beautiful display of terraced rice fields is the ideal place to relax.

Local craftsmanship

You will spend the morning exploring on foot the surrounding rice fields and discovering a few traditional villages, specialists in blacksmithing and silver jewelry.

The afternoon is free but it is possible to organize a new excursion to further discover the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. Some will also have the opportunity to learn about Balinese cuisine, or even local arts, if they wish.

Balinese walk

The morning is devoted to a final Balinese stroll, through fields and rice paddies, towards the Bali Aga village of Tenganan which has preserved Balinese culture prior to the Javanese influence of the Hindu Majapahit dynasty. To preserve their village from the harmful effects of intrusion by non-initiates to the worship of Batara Indra, every visitor is welcomed from noon until nightfall, after which everyone is asked to continue on their way. There was a time when the villagers of Tenganan even swept away the footprints of their visitors to completely erase their visit.

It is in the city of Klungkung that you discover the courthouse where punishments once inflicted on outlaws are represented, like threats hanging over the heads of the accused.

You continue your journey towards Sanur where you arrive in the afternoon. Hotel check-in and free evening.
