Ketapang is a small port town adjacent to the larger city of Banyuwangi at the far eastern tip of Java. While the town itself holds few major tourist attractions, visitors typically come here to board ferries bound for Bali or to embark on a journey to discover the Kawah Ijen.

Occasionally, an overnight stay is necessary to catch an early morning ferry. Several hotels are available near the port, including the Ketapang Indah Hotel, a charming property offering both rooms and individual bungalows.

The ferry will take you to Gilimanuk in Bali. The crossing takes only 30 to 45 minutes.
