Our story
Azimuth Adventure Travel was born from a deep attachment to Indonesia, its people, its volcanoes and its jungles. A simple commitment has guided the agency from the start: to showcase the archipelago in English, off the beaten path, with demanding standards and respect for the places visited.
The adventure began in 1992, when Dominique completed his first photo assignment in Irian Jaya, documenting Papuan tribes. Captivated by the region, he settled permanently in Indonesia in 1996, then founded the agency in 1999 in Yogyakarta, on the island of Java, with his partner Puji. Specialized from the start in trekking and volcano climbing, Azimuth gradually expanded its offerings across the entire archipelago and collaborates with leading English-speaking adventure tour operators. Since 2014, a second office has operated in Bali under the Bali Circuits brand.
Today, Dominique and Puji lead an entirely English-speaking Franco-Indonesian team. Alongside them, Alice guides travelers in designing their bespoke itineraries, while Christophe ensures daily client support. All share the same deep knowledge of the ground, acquired through more than twenty years of exploration.

Yes, 7 days a week throughout your stay. You'll receive a local WhatsApp number + a dedicated emergency contact. Our on-site team can assist within hours in case of unexpected events (cancelled flight, illness, weather changes).
Your payments are 100% protected by the Professional Solidarity Association for Tourism. If a service provider (hotel, transport, etc.) or the agency fails, your funds are refunded. This is a mandatory guarantee for any French travel agency — Nomadays benefits from it across its entire network.
Yes, as much as possible. Changes made more than 30 days before departure are generally free of charge (excluding hotel rate differences). As your departure approaches, some bookings become less flexible — we always inform you of your options before confirmation.
